The object of the Association shall be to promote friendship and understanding between the peoples of the Republic of Korea
and of the United States of America and to strengthen cultural, economic and other relations between the two countries.

[KAA in Action] 18th Korea-America Friendship Night

The Korea–America Association hosted the 18th Korea–America Friendship Night at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul on Wednesday, 

November 4, 2020 and presented the Korea–America Friendship Award to the 8th UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.


The event attended by such important figures of both Korea and the United States as Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Rob Rapson 

of the American Embassy, Commander of the UNC/CFC/USFK General Robert Abrams, National Assemblyman Park Jin 

who is a KAA Honorary Chairman, Deputy Commander of the ROK–U.S. Combined Forces Command General Kim 

Seung-kyum, Chairman and CEO James Kim of the American Chamber of Commerce Korea, and their spouses.


Unlike the previous years when about 600 guests usually attended such an event, this year’s event was held while 

the participants were limited within 100 and sufficient distances were kept among them with a view to strictly observing 

the daily quarantine regulations against COVID-19.
